who does the suit name as defendants?
Named alongside Combs as defendants are Lang Talent, its founder Diedre Lang and Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier & Hinojosa Talent Agency, whom the plaintiff says are talent agents he hired to represent him as a child actor. The plaintiff alleged his agents sent him the invitation to the networking event at which Combs was present, but he accused them of creating the risk he would “encounter powerful adult industry figures” where he may be “vulnerable to manipulation, coercion, exploitation, and abuse” because of his age. The plaintiff brought eight claims, most of which are against all the defendants, though the claims of negligence exclude Combs. Under the negligence claim, the plaintiff accused his agents of knowing about Combs’ allegedly “sexually deviant propensities and prior sexually predatory misconduct,” but said they “failed to take any preventive action” to protect him from such conduct. Other claims include childhood sexual assault, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent supervision of a minor and false imprisonment—which refers to Combs leading the plaintiff to a back room, where he shut the door and allegedly assaulted the plaintiff.

why is diddy in prison?
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison, which he is serving at New Jersey’s Fort Dix federal prison, after a jury last summer convicted him on two counts of violating the Mann Act, which outlaws transportation to engage in prostitution. The jury acquitted him of more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The rapper’s legal troubles began in late 2023, when his former girlfriend and a key witness at his federal trial, Cassie Ventura, sued him for rape and physical abuse. Combs settled with Ventura for a reported $20 million. Since Ventura’s lawsuit, Combs has been sued dozens of times, including from several plaintiffs who said they were minors at the time of the alleged incidents. Combs has consistently denied wrongdoing in all civil suits and pleaded not guilty to his federal criminal charges. Combs has made multiple attempts to cut his prison sentence short, including asking President Donald Trump for a pardon, enrolling in a prison sobriety program and appealing his convictions.
what to watch for
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed last week it is reviewing sexual assault allegations made against Combs. The Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department both presented cases related to the same alleged victim to prosecutors in September 2025, the Los Angeles Times reported, for potential criminal charges. The allegations reportedly concern music producer Jonathan Hay, who alleged Combs assaulted him while the two worked on remixes of songs in 2020 and 2021. Combs’ attorneys have denied Hay’s allegations.
