Carlson has been among a group of prominent MAGA figures who have publicly split from Trump on the war in Iran, among other issues. In April, Carlson said he would be \u201ctormented<\/u>\u201d by his support for Trump for a \u201clong time.\u201d At the time, the former Fox host said, \u201cAnd I want to say I\u2019m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional, that\u2019s all I\u2019ll say.\u201d Last month, he called out<\/u> Trump for touting his supposed \u201c99%\u201d approval rating in Israel and saying, \u201cMaybe after I do this, I\u2019ll go to Israel and run for prime minister.\u201d The former Fox News host mocked the president for \u201cbragging about his popularity\u201d in a foreign country, \u201cthe same country that got us into the war,\u201d which tanked his popularity at home.
