A BBC Panorama documentary about Trump\u2019s presidential campaign titled, \u201cTrump: A Second Chance?\u201d\u2014aired in October 2024. In a lengthy speech delivered to his supporters in Washington, D.C., Trump said: \u201cWe’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.\u201d Nearly an hour later in the speech, he said the line, \u201cAnd we fight. We fight like hell.\u201d However, the Panorama edit made it seem like these lines were said side-by-side and showed him saying: \u201cWe’re going to walk down to the Capitol…and I’ll be there with you. What Did the BBC Say In Its Apology?<\/h2>\n

In a statement<\/u> issued publicly last year, the broadcaster said: \u201cWe accept that our edit unintentionally created the impression that we were showing a single continuous section of the speech, rather than excerpts from different points in the speech, and that this gave the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action.\u201d BBC Chair Samir Shah also sent a personal letter to the White House expressing the broadcaster\u2019s apology to the president. <\/p>\n
