Davis was then hired by Bell Records, which he rebranded to Arista\u2014and today is still a label under Sony Music Entertainment\u2014where he built a lengthy and diverse roster of artists. BMG Music, Arista\u2019s parent company, replaced<\/u> Davis for a younger leader, after which he threatened to leave instead of taking a secondary role.
